Sizing Guide
Some pet parents ask us, "why don't you put a minimum + maximum dog weight on the packaging so I know which size to get my dog?". We have a few responses to that question, but the most common one is simply: every dog is different. Even within their own breeds, dog body shapes and weights vary drastically. Can you imagine buying your clothes based on your weight?! It just isn't practical. So before you invest in our adventure gear, we suggest measuring your thrill sniffer first. It might take a few extra minutes now, but it will save many more minutes + frustration by having to go through the return/exchange process.
Within our brand, we have done our best to create a consistent sizing system. If your dog wears our medium collar, it is likely that they will also wear medium gear across the range. However, that's not always the case. Take Typo Cremeans, our rescued mystery mutt, for instance... his head is a small, his neck is a medium and his body can range between large and medium. We've met a few pugs and boston terriers along the way that can wear both small and medium harnesses comfortably. All of our gear that your pup has to wear around their neck, chest and/or waist is adjustable. You won't know until you measure, so please check the size guide on each product page before you buy.
If you're unsure, send some pictures of your dog to us at hello@alcottadventures.com and we'll do our best to fit your dog virtually. We'll exchange your gear for free if we guess wrong. We'll even do that if you guess wrong. Click here to check out our return + exchange policy.
